Welcome Back DSPS Families!

The first day of school is fast-approaching! We hope that everyone had a restful and enjoyable summer! The teachers and staff at David Suzuki P.S. have been busy making preparations for the new school year. This email is intended to remind you of our first day procedures.

Arrival

School starts at 9:05 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5th. Teachers will be out in the school yard, ready to receive students at 8:50 a.m. For students in Senior Kindergarten (Year 2), please meet the teachers in the kindergarten pen area at the front of the school. For students in Grades 1 – 8, please meet at the back of the school and find the sign for your grade. Teachers and staff will be there to help direct you to your class. (Junior Kindergarten students will attend on Tuesday from 1:55 – 3:35 p.m.)

Dismissal

Please be sure your child knows how they will be getting home at the end of the day. You may wish to write a note to your child’s teacher to help with communicating this message. For bussing information, please visit www.schoolbuscity.com.

Student Agendas – School Cash Online

To support organization and good work habits for your child, you will have the option of purchasing a school agenda. We encourage families to use our online payment system for this item, as well as other items throughout the school year. To access the online payment system, please visit www.schoolcashonline.

School Communication

Please check your child’s backpack on the first day of school, as there will be some important forms coming home for you to read and sign. Also, stay tuned for our new school blog! Make sure that your email address is up to date with the school so that you don’t miss out on timely and important information!

In closing, we are very excited about starting the new school year and look forward to our continued partnership!

Kind Regards,
